Dual SIM Android phone Motorola Glam XT800 to launch in India

Motorola will soon be launching India’s first dual SIM Android smartphone.

The company plans to bring out its 3G-enabled Dual SIM Android phone Motorola Glam XT800 in the coming week. The XT800 is a GSM+CDMA dual mode, dual standby phone. The new Motorola phone is expected to be priced around Rs. 23,000.
There is no hardware keyboard in the Motorola Glam, unlike Motorola Droid, and the overall look is ovoid, rounded – nothing like the industrial design of the Droid. Motorola Glam phone will be powered by TI OMAP3430 550Mhz processor and include 256MB RAM. Memory can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.

As we reported earlier, Motorola XT800 was launched in China last year with Android 2.1 aka Eclair. However, Motorola is said to have already launched an upgraded version of the phone in China called the XT800+.
Now, we don’t know if the XT800 is the old version or completely a new phone? And if it is the old version, why is Motorola launching it so late in India? So, till an official announcement is made by Motorola stating otherwise, Motorola Glam XT800 is expected to launch in India with Android 2.2 aka Froyo. Related: Cheap and best Android phones in India
The Glam will feature a 3.7-inch (854×480) TFT capacitive touchscreen. The screen is reported to be Gorilla Glass which promises high sturdiness. Further, it will come with a 720p high-definition HDMI-out port for video playback. The Motorola Glam comes with an E-compass and GPS facility for easy navigation.
The Motorola XT800 dual SIM Android phone features an accelerometer, magnetometer, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and ambient light sensor. However, the Motorola Glam doesn’t support Adobe Flash. The phone comes with FM radio. You might also want to check out our top Android phones
The Motorola XT800 has a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 5x digital zoom. The Motorola Android phone can record videoes at 720p resolution. Connectivity options of Motorola Glam include Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE and GPRS. Its microUSB 2.0 port lets you transfer data from the phone to you PC and other devices easily.
